Our Story

Memphis is known for being a city of hospitality, but as we looked around our neighborhood, we realized that there wasn’t a public place for five and a half miles to stop and enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend, to gather in a space designed for work, or to hold a business conference or social event.

We decided to change that.

The Front Porch is more than just a place—it’s a movement to Gather for Good. Nestled on Walnut Grove Road in East Memphis, this welcoming space is designed for the Greater Memphis community to come together—to work, play, rest, and restore. Whether building connections, fostering collaboration, or simply finding a moment of peace, The Front Porch is a center of hospitality for people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds, dedicated to making Memphis an even greater place for everyone.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission: To create a center for community, to make meaningful connections, to find peace, and to know this is a place where someone is expecting you.

Our Vision: The Front Porch is a place for rest, renewal, and restoring. It is a place sustained by local enterprises and individuals who come together and who share common values and common aspirations for our beloved community. This is a place of acceptance, hospitality, and grace for all.

Looking Ahead

As we open our doors, we’re already dreaming forward.

We envision The Front Porch Memphis as a vibrant home base for collaboration across our city—a place where businesses, nonprofits, and networking groups gather to share ideas, host meetings, and spark meaningful connections. Our event space and meeting room were designed with intention: to welcome presentations, workshops, lunch-and-learns, and milestone celebrations of every kind.

We hope families will choose The Front Porch for their most joyful occasions—from birthday parties to wedding receptions—knowing they’ll be embraced with care and southern hospitality.

At the heart of it all is Second Helpings Café, a cozy, inviting spot where Memphians can grab a coffee, share a meal, and connect with colleagues, friends, or loved ones. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for conversation, the café is here to nourish both body and spirit.

Looking ahead, we want every visitor to feel what this space was built for:

A place for Memphians to Gather for Good.
